Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- Assorted food coloring
- Edible flower decorations
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together in a bowl with a whisk
Put away
On a different large bowl, beat the butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy
Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix them in well
Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients one at a time until a dough forms
Make sure each piece of dough is the same size and color it with a different food coloring
Each color of dough should be wrapped in plastic wrap and put in the fridge for at least an hour
Warm the oven up to 350F 175C and put parchment paper on a baking sheet
On a floured surface, roll out each color of dough until it is about 1/4 inch thick
Cut out cookies from the rolled dough with cookie cutters that look like flowers
Put the cookies with the shapes on the baking sheet that has been prepared
Bake for 8 to 10 minutes, or until the edges are just beginning to turn golden
After taking the cookies out of the oven, let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet before moving them to a wire rack to cool all the way
Add powdered sugar and milk to a bowl and mix them together until the frosting is smooth
As needed, change the consistency
Use the icing and edible flower decorations to decorate the cookies once they are cool
Wait for the icing to harden before you serve or package the cookies
